Sun, Sand, and Soul Searching in Punta Cana

I just returned from a life-affirming getaway to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and I can’t stop smiling (or sipping Dominican coffee pretending I’m still there). As a seasoned traveler with 20+ years of passport stamps and packed suitcases, I can honestly say—this trip was one of the best I’ve ever experienced.

Sunscape Coco – My Tropical Home Away From Home
I stayed at the Sunscape Coco Punta Cana, and from the moment I arrived, I was welcomed like family. The staff were warm, kind, and genuinely happy to help, which made all the difference in setting the tone for my stay. The resort was immaculate—clean, well-maintained, and beautifully laid out.
And the food? Tantalizing. Whether I was enjoying the buffet or indulging in the a la carte restaurants, every meal felt like a thoughtful, flavorful experience. From fresh seafood to mouthwatering desserts, my inner foodie was fully satisfied.

Beach Days & Blissful Mornings
Every morning, I’d walk down to the beach, cup of Dominican Santo Domingo coffee in hand, and sip my Americano while watching the waves. These quiet moments were pure magic. As a single female traveler, I felt incredibly safe, at peace, and deeply connected—to the ocean, to myself, and to whatever comes next in life. Those beachside reflections gave me space to pause, dream, and feel gratitude for where I am and where I’m going.

Adventures of a Lifetime with Ocean Adventures
Now, let’s talk about Ocean Adventures Punta Cana. I’ve traveled extensively, from the streets of Amsterdam to the countryside in Cozumel -- but nothing compares to what I experienced here.
The Ocean Spa Boat was unlike anything I’ve done. Picture this: floating on turquoise waters, soaking in the sun, indulging in spa treatments, coffee body scrubs, massages and laughing through the pedicure fish experience (yes, the tickles are real!). It was rejuvenating, unique, and absolutely unforgettable.
And then there was the horseback adventure through the jungle, which ended with swimming with horses—a surreal, cinematic, dreamlike moment I’ll never forget. It was wild and calm, powerful and peaceful. I felt like I had galloped straight into a postcard.

Why Punta Cana Captured My Heart
This trip reminded me of all the reasons I travel—not just to see new places, but to feel alive, to recharge, and to fall back in love with life. Punta Cana offered safety, beauty, adventure, and serenity, all wrapped up in sunshine and ocean breeze.
If you’re considering a tropical escape, whether solo or with loved ones, put Punta Cana and Sunscape Coco at the top of your list. And do yourself a favor—book that Ocean Adventures tour. Your soul will thank you.

Until the next adventure,
Steph
